Consolation Prizes:

- Amazon Joins In The Fun

AmazonPayments

Amazon has joined in the league of Digital Money by introducing Amazon Payments, their own payment processor. This would have make perfect business sense with Ebay acquiring Paypal in 2002. Either Amazon would be finding companies to acquire or tap for their own huge market of retail, or starting on their own.

Anyone using Amazonpayments available for feedback?

- C-Gold , A New Digital Gold Currency

A brand new digital gold currency (DGC) emerged amidst the turmoiled e-Gold situation. A Malaysian based DGC, c-Gold has been rapidly gaining popularity, has almost the same features of our favourite DGC e-Gold, not allowing chargebacks, a easy to use payment gateway for merchants, and boasts a bailment shop in Penang, Malaysia, it’ll be interesting to see how it picks off and create its own niche client base or will it soar should e-Gold loses its case. Currently c-Gold has close to 7,000 registered users.

A list of merchants and exchangers that are using c-Gold can be found here.

- Webmoney introduces Webmoney Gold

Webmoney, undoubtedly one of the most popular digital currencies with over 4.5 million registered users, introduces it’s gold bullion based asset into market in July 2007. With an audited 30KG of gold, Webmoney Gold kicks off in style (WMG purse).

You should probably read Mark’s Case Study of Success on Webmoney on their prepaid solution. That’s an excellent piece on how Webmoney is dominating the digital currency industry.

Stay tune for Part 2 tomorrow with all the action with the 3 top news of 2007 before we embrace the all new 2008.
