The Ducks’ Corporate Past Continues to Haunt Them

They may no longer be mighty and the iconography of Emilio’s epic may have been removed, but the Anaheim Ducks will forever be a promotional tie-in to a children’s movie trilogy about a youth hockey team. No matter what they do, the Anaheim hockey franchise will forever be tied to the Disney film franchise. And so, even though the Anaheim Ducks are Stanley Cup champions, there’s no erasing this monstrosity of Saturday Morning Cartoons: the Mighty Ducks Animated Series. Here’s a basic synopsis:
Anthropomorphic duck-like aliens from a distant planet come to Earth to play professional hockey and fight crime with a spaceship they keep beneath the rink. Plus it has a rocking theme!
