The Eclipse? Or Something Else?

654114_loud_noise.jpgI’m slogging today. My head feels full of fog and I’d really like to take a nap, which is odd because it’s not quite 9:30 a.m.

Part of the problem, I’m sure, is I got up twice last night to watch the lunar eclipse. For a change, San Diego had crystal clear skies which made viewing positively spectacular. I feel almost an obligation to view such events when I they occur literally in my back yard, and it’s always worth it. I tried to imagine what it would be like if I didn’t know what was happening and I could almost capture the idea a dragon was swallowing the moon.

The other reason, however, was a ton of work I got done yesterday. The trip meant a series of written reports and I finished all three. I also got a good start on developing a working table of contents for a new book I’m writing called Writing With Spirit and Vision. To get that done, I had to spend some time on goals and tasks. And if that weren’t enough, I spent a couple of hours in the clay studio and managed to build a small elephant I think I’ll like.

In other words, I used a ton of creative juices yesterday. I’m sure part of my brain fog is because of that.

Fortunately, today doesn’t require that sort of creativity. It’s mostly editing and attending Mark Silver’s teleclass. There’s plenty to do and to think about, but I can operate from a different, less fatigued part of my brain.
