The Future has Spoken…and they’d vote for Obama.
The winner of the 2008 Scholastic Election Poll is Barack Obama – by a margin of 57% to 39%.
Every 4 years, since 1940, the publishers of Scholastic Magazine conduct the Scholastic Election Poll.
And during that run the “voters” have supported the (eventual) winner in all but 2 elections; in 1948 they picked Thomas Dewey (as did the Chicago Tribune) and in 1960 they chose Vice President, Richard Nixon, over Senator John F. Kennedy.
Students “vote” by sending in paper ballots found in the the Scholastic Publications and on-line. The poll is open to students grades 1 through 12. Over 250,000 “votes” were received.
