A lot of Dell users are upset with the fact that all new Dell systems are to be installed with Vista. No Windows XP option!!! This is truly a bold move for a company like Dell.

All PC users will eventually use Vista. It's inevitable. It's just a matter of time. When XP first launched, a lot of people had a lot of bad things to say about it in the same way that Vista is being scrutinized.

Vista sucks right now because of the so many compatibility issues (which is expected). Microsoft should also do something about the redundancy with the User Access Control (UAC) security system.

I can't wait for Vista SP1 to be released maybe in about a few months from now. This will be the perfect time to make the inevitable switch. Right now, there's just too many bad things.

Vista is not the OS of the future, it blocks 90% of all media software and hardware.

I have battled for two days to get vista/longhorn to accept change but, it will not. Vista is a large memory hog as will and runs slower than XP.

Vista will also, block any change you may wish to mmake and not allow 90% installation of your ffavorite software and 90% of your favorite hardware...

Sorry to say I rate this product a -1 on a scale of 0-10 as far as user friendly... but, who really cares...fire away!!!

I have not tested Linux, but, it is on the horizon.

Adios! MS
