The Gay Olympian

In the blog, Timed Finals, Scott’s post talked about a review he came across of the book authored by Canadian 1992 Olympic Champion Mark Tewksbury entitled, Inside Out: Straight Talk From a Gay Jock.
Okay, I can tell what you’re thinking… because I’m thinking it, too. WTF is going on? I had talked about a geek turned Olympic Champion, an Olympian who sings [who also went ahead and made a music video. *cringes at the memory*], an Olympic skier who shifted from the slopes to NFL, a politician who wanted to be an Olympian, an Olympian turned criminal and now, I write about an Olympian turned author. Hmmm. It makes you think how all things can be connected, huh?
Anyway, I’d like to share a short statement from the review of the book that I saw over at Amazon.
Intimate and endearing details such as these are what provide Tewksbury’s story with relevance beyond the famous-athlete-fights-and-overcomes-his-personal-demons story. — Amazon Review
Honestly, I was taken aback by the idea of a gay Olympian at first but eventually it peaked my interest so much that I had to tell you guys about it, too. ;) Hehehe.
