The Government of Canada is promoting Canadian podcasts!

It’s not often that I appreciate getting an email from the government, but in this case I did!  I found out this week that the Government of Canada, Ministry of Culture I believe, let me know about the new Podcasts.Culture.ca site:

cdnpodcasts

While the cynic might be tempted to pooh-pooh another attempt at making a list of (Canadian) podcasts, I applaud my government for highlighting the contributions we social media types are making to Canadian culture.

The CBC led the way in the Canadian media world with their use of podcasts and blogs and now even wikis to help with programming, now the government is getting into the act.

Podcasts are organized by genre, I think they might need a technology category, and they aren’t hosting the files, just linking to people sites and feeds.

You can recommend your podcast (or a favourite) through their submission form.  Who are you going to suggest?

I did submit my “other language” podcast to their site!…5 times, no result. This directory is stillborn.
