The Great Blog Off: Call For Guest Bloggers on Women in Business

My fellow bloggers and I on the the Business Channel and the Entertainment Channel will be having our first great Blog-Off! This Saturday, June 21, 2008, we will all be blogging for a straight 24 hours, every hour on the hour to celebrate the summer solstice (occurring this year on June 20, the first time since 1975 that it hasn’t occurred on June 21). This is the first type of event of this kind in b5media’s history and certainly in my history! It should be fun and exciting and a great way for us all to meet and network with new friends. But, we’re not just all blogging for blog’s sake. It’s all for a good cause.

The Great Blog Off is an opportunity to do something good. We will be supporting Accion International as our charity for the Great Blog Off. The mission of Accion is:

to give people the tools they need to work their way out of poverty. By providing microloans, business training and other financial services to poor men and women who start their own businesses, Accion’s partner lending organizations help people work their own way up the economic ladder, with dignity and pride. With just a little capital, people can grow their own businesses. They can earn enough to afford basics like running water, better food and schooling for their children.

So in an effort to further this good cause, and to have loads of fun, we are inviting readers of Biz Chicks Rule the opportunity to guest post on that day. If you are a business woman, a work-at-home mom, a small business owner, an entrepreneur or jill-of-all-trades, we want YOU! Send us your blog posts or articles to be a part of the great Blog-Off.

And you know there’s gotta be rules. Here they go:

1. Posts must be relevant and pertain to business women in nature. Posts can be from a man, but must speak to our female audience.
2. Please, no blatant self-promotion, product promotion or spammy type material. The delete button is just one keystroke over…and I never, EVER forget names.
3. You can submit posts as a Word document or in the body of an email address: bridget [dot] wright [at] 5media.com.
4. You can attach a 2-3 sentence byline at the end of your post along with a link to your site or blog. We want to be sure to show you some love too!
