The ignored terrace

The New York Times runs important news stories. Mostly.

Recently, though, the Times wrote a funny little story about the terraces outside those towering apartment buildings dotting the city. Seems some people love their terraces, while others … don’t.

You can read the story by writer Sarah Kershaw here. Seems a lot of apartment owners in New York City who have terraces struggle with keeping them clean and uncluttered. Many terraces become hangouts for rusted bikes and unused outdoor furniture. Some owners even fear that their dogs and cats may accidentally fall off them.

There you have it. You think all those homeowners facing foreclosure have problems? At least most of them don’t have to worry about what plans to put out on their terraces now that spring has arrived.
