The Importance of Keeping Your Ratio Balanced on Twitter

Since I have been working a lot with twitter recently I have been trying to make an effort to keep my followers/following ratio balanced.

Why keep the ratio balanced?

Because since I have been actively adding people if I let the ratio get too far out of whack (5oo or more) I think people are less receptive to add my profile.

 Perception in reality

I have to admit since I have added a lot of people on Twitter it is now continually growing at a much faster rate than before. Having an air of popularity around you does have an impact on your social networking stature.

Following people back…

Is important, even though it took me about half an hour to go through all my twitter followers and make sure they were friended back it was worth it. If people take the time to follow you, well I think you should do the same. Build the community, don’t think you are above it.
