The Mac Food Lovers’ Good Friend

My brother’s birthday is coming up in a month. I’ve been thinking of a gift to give him. He loves to cook and is a Mac user.

MacGourmet Deluxe from Mariner Software is a an application that allows you to catalog your recipes, share them with others and organize your meal plans. It’s like iTunes for recipes. For the Mac food lover this is quite nifty. One thing, I like about it is that it connects to the USDA database that allows the app to look up the nutritional values of the food recipe, allowing you to keep track of what you’re eating. This is useful for people on a diet and want to watch their weight.

The wine notes feature of the app also allows you to capture information about your favorite wine. From region all the way to the vintage and style of your favorite wine. A perfect compliment to your recipes.

Once you’ve built your list of favorite recipes you can use Mac Gourmet Deluxe to publish it and share with your friends and family.
