The NBA is, Once Again, With Leather

Well, now that I have the unavoidable joke out of the way, here’s what I actually think is going to happen:
On January 1st, when the old ball returns like Coke classic, it will be praised for its natural feel and all will be well in the NBA. Notable complainers like Steve Nash and Lebron James will have tremendous months, citing the return to the old ball as a contributing factor. Stern will be contrite and admit that he was mistaken in introducing the new ball. In about March, David Stern will announce that the NBA was still using the fake balls the whole time, just simply returned to the traditional ball pattern. The problems with the new ball were simply psycho-somatic. The placebo balls will prove that Stern was right in the first place and he will never be questioned again. David Stern doesn’t give up this easily. He’ll still win in the end. Also, placebo balls, tee-hee.
