Get out those 3-D glasses, kiddies!
As if watching our favorite football teams on regular (or high-def) TV isn’t enough, the NFL will broadcast a game next week in 3-D. One source says, “Next week, a game between the San Diego Chargers and the Oakland Raiders will be broadcast live in 3-D to theaters in Los Angeles, New York and Boston. It is a preliminary step on what is likely a long road to any regular 3-D broadcasts of football games.”
On December 4th, three theaters will transmit the Chargers and Raiders game using special cameras. A couple hundred people will get to see this game, but not you and I apparently. It’s closed to the public.
Are we sad?
Will we not be able to watch Aaron Rodgers or Brett Favre or Petyon Manning on regular old stupid TV?
I think we will.
This isn’t the first time the NFL has tried the 3-D game. In 2004 they broadcast the Super Bowl to a select group.
See, we missed that, too. Apparently we just aren’t important enough for these very special 3-D games.
