The Nokia E61 and Your Macintosh

For the longest time, Apple fans have talked about the Zen behind electronic computing. This “Holy Trinity” consists of a Macintosh running OS X, a Sony Ericsson mobile phone and a Palm OS handheld. There have been several iterations of this, which include the MacBook + Treo or the MacBook + Sony Ericsson P990 series, but one thing is for sure – the brands of Apple, Palm and Sony Ericsson jive very well like butter and jam.
And then comes the Nokia E61, a Symbian powered operating system that does what most smartphones can do: sync, surf, call, organize, and push (email).
It turns out that Symbian has been churning out really good applications (like this podcast downloader) for the E61 and other devices on Symbian.

Here is a comprehensive review of the E61 when it comes to pairing it with your Macintosh. The thread also talks about how to maximize the use of the Symbian + Macintosh pairing. A good read.

Butter and jam ?
My only gripe about the E61 is that it doesn’t have a camera. It’s a great business phone, though.
