The Old He Said, He Said Situation

30 December 2007: Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis calms down wide receiver Chad Johnson after officials ruled his catch as an incomplete pass during the Cincinnati Bengals 38-25 win over the Miami Dolphins at Dolphin Stadium in Miami, Florida.

Communication is a big key in any relationship. Without it, you might as well scream divorce, divorce, divorce. Take Chad Johnson and the Cincinnati Bengals. Chad showed up for camp but he didn’t practice on June 12th. Him and his agent said that he had issues with his ankle and the Bengals recommended arthroscopic surgery. But this is what the Bengals had to say:

“Chad Johnson was given a physical (exam) this morning by one of the Bengals’ team doctors. He did not report any physical problems to the doctor, and he was cleared by the doctor for practice. Later, after the physical was concluded, Chad told our training staff that his back was sore. He refused to practice.” (Dayton Daily News)

Well, that seems to be two different stories. A miscommunication perhaps? Being a bit of a Bengals fan, I was hoping this would clear itself up before the season started. Either get a divorce or go to counseling. It’s black and white here. Why are they making this so difficult?
