I'm ready to get this done Miranda!

Like I tweeted earlier, I've already lost 30 pounds. The main thing that helped was the realization that you don't "go on a diet", you "change your diet", there's a HUGE difference.

Also, while I did lose a lot of weight already, I hadn't been exercising. That has changed...I'm now riding my bike 20 miles a day back & forth to work. It is not only good exercise, but it is a stress buster & a great start to my day!

I'll do my best to motivate & help keep you on track! GO BETA!

I agree about strength training's importance. Actually I find that that is the biggest benefit I get from working out regularly at the gym - for some reason, the gym alone (cardio and weights) doesn't help me lose weight, but I feel better and can handle stress better, and it helps you have a generally more positive attitude. For me, weight loss is completely related to nutrition and diet.

Thanks!

It's those first few days and getting started that always get me. And you're right: It's all about developing good habits to replace the bad.

You're a worthy opponent. :) Good health is one of those things that keeps itself going--once you've gotten into habits it's easier to stick with them and your body gets more used to them. Plus you've got more energy to exercise with.
