The Power of Networking is…

August 4, 2008 by Jennifer Gniadecki

The power of networking is located right past the fear of talking to strangers and a little to the left of figuring out your elevator speech.

The power of networking – the true power – is in your goal.

Networking can get you a husband or wife as easily as it can get you a job. It can bring you more clients just as easily as it can bring you more friends.

But if you don’t have a clear goal – it’s like going into a single’s club, standing on the stage and yelling “PICK ME!”

Sure you’ll get picked, but will it be by the best match for what you have to offer? Probably not. By just throwing your message at everyone without a goal, you’re going to get the most desperate people after you for help.

So decide what you want, and then go out there and grab it with both hands. Say, “Hello” to strangers and get to know business owners in your area. The worst thing that can happen is you’ll make a friend instead of a client.
