The Right OS For You or Microsoft Windows Against Other OS’s a QuickLook
Microsoft Windows is just one operating system to choose from in the whacked out crazy world of computers. Unfortunately not everyone has the same point of view on operating systems. It can be confusing when some of your friends say buy a Mac, while others say go Linux, and others say Microsoft is the best. What is even more confusing is when your hillbilly uncle says I send my e-mail using my trusty abacus.
Microsoft Windows is the giant in the PC world for a reason, and that reason is that it meets the needs of so many people. There is a love hate relationship with Microsoft that most people live with, but Microsoft does leave a gap that can not be filled by Windows. This of course is why we get choices in life.
I always say there is an Operating System for every occasion. You should always do the research and get the best one for your needs. Research your needs first than match that to the right computer. Never by a PC because it is the “bomb” with all the kids, instead buy it for the color.
Microsoft Windows
Good for general all around use, easy to load, easy to use, easy to customize. Microsoft Windows is designed to be an operating system that is for everyone, and to get everyone standardized. You will read about holes and back doors, but whether they admit it or not every OS has them, and Microsoft actually has been rated the fastest at repairing security issues.
Linux
For people who want more out of their operating system than Microsoft has to provide we switch to Linux. There is a lot more work that goes into Linux, but after a lot of development, and programming advanced users are happier. It is defiantly not for the entry level user.
Mac
I don’t always keep up with what’s happening in the Mac world, but do know that if you want a real basic no frills computer with very little room for upgrading, and don’t mind cost Mac is a good way to go. Mac has tried so hard to insure that their OS is nothing like Windows they don’t have a lot of nothing. Mac computers may offer less, but because of this there is less to go wrong. This is good for people who want little to do with a computer but still rely on one.

i’d say windows for personal and general business use, mac for photo-editing and graphics, and linux for programmers since it’s a lot like unix (which is a no-no for non-technical users if you want to keep your hair or your sanity intact). ;)
I wouldn’t have called the Mac a “no frills” system? certainly it looks prettier.
You forgot to mention that windows is the only options for games.
Rio:
That is good except for the fact that Mac graphics stopped being good in about 1997. One of the many reasons they changed to an Intel chipset is because it performs better with the dumbed down PC graphics they have been using for years. With all the 3d graphics used on PC Graphics cards Mac could not compete. Fortunately for Mac a wave of graphics fans were born with there earlier computers that has not died down. Unfortunately most companies who create graphics believe the hype and get stuck with Macs and do not even know about the power of a PC. In comparison it would be like saying the original Star Wars special effects are way better than The Lord of the Rings special effects. Yes, Star Wars still rocks but the 1977 special effects do not compare to The Lord of the Rings special effects.
