Thanks to Jacoby Ellsbury, everyone in America gets a free taco. Everyone. In the 50 states and the District. (Sorry Puerto Rico and Guam.) Sure, it’s only 79 cents for a taco at Taco Bell, but it’s free. For anyone. In the entire country! So long as you show up from 3-5 next Tuesday and specifically ask for a “Free Crunchy Seasoned Beef Taco.” And in case you were thinking of implementing Royce Clayton’s genius “I ain’t got my taco” scheme, the rules officially state that “Participating Taco Bell restaurant manager reserves the right to deny Free Taco to any person he/she reasonably believes has already received a Free Taco.” But really, theres only a three hour window, so it would take an impressive cluster of taco bells for someone to get an actual meal out of the stolen base taco give-away. I mean, really, this is a pretty genius campaign. No one goes to Taco Bell and gets just one taco. Hell, no one usually goes to taco bell before midnight. Plus, it has easily been the most enjoyable part of the World Series thus far. Royce Clayton and Coco Crisp’s free taco debate was classic. (I assume that’s what baseball dugouts sound like most of the time. There’s a lot of time to kill there.) The Taco Bell CEO’s interview with Chris Meyers was fantastic. He was unabashed. No matter whom we’re rooting for, we get free tacos. What a time we live in!

Oh yeah, about the game. That was Colorado’s chance to steal one in Boston. They probably needed that one.
