The vigil is over: so THIS is Rapture

Yes, you read right. I finally have a personal copy of Bioshock, and have the scars to prove it.

After a lot of waiting, I’ve finally gotten a taste of Rapture. Other than the fact that Bioshock is currently a hot game (despite the crazy buzz generated by Halo 3), I’m going to make the most out of my adventures in the underwater city because of all the trouble it put me through.

Sorry for the retailer ad—the game does come with a plastic bag after purchase. No, DataBlitz didn’t pay me. I wish they did, though.

Is all the crazy stuff worth the one-way ticket to the bottom of the ocean? Many have spoken “aye,” but I’ll be the judge of that.

So here’s the tin box. It looks really nice, but is it really necessary? For all we know, the game would be cheaper if they used your standard cardboard box. Then again, the edges of cardboard ones get folded or misshapen over time.

Can you believe it? The Bioshock manual has ads inside. Talk about milking the cash cow to the hilt.

Here’s another ad at the back. I can only imagine 2K laughing its way to the bank. Aside from the ads, let’s not forget that Bioshock is selling like hotcakes.

Installation was blissfully quick, considering the fact that I was using an external DVD writer that time.

You see, aside from my video card, my DVD drive was also busted. Funny how the drive got busted after I brought the PC to my retailer for the video card’s warranty replacement.
