The Wii Homebrew Channel

Would you like to play your classic LucasArts adventure games (and many other adventure games) on your Wii using the lovely ScummVM software and an SD card? Well, you can, surprisingly! Yes, there is an entire Homebrew Channel that you can download for your Wii that will allow you to access programs on an SD card you’ve slid ever so carefully into the SD slot on your Wii. And then, just like magic, you can download ScummVM, put it on your SD card, put that in your Wii, load up ScummVM and have your collection of adventure games at the flick of a wrist!

You can also write your own custom programs (anyone thinking Indy Adventure Games?) that you can also play with on the Wii. Now, THAT is an awesome idea.

Just watch the magic happen:

I’m surprised I didn’t hear about this before now, seeing as I love the homebrew/indy scene. Maybe I should get out from under my rock and venture out into the land of the Internet some more. For more information on how to set up the Wii Homebrew Channel, check out the FAQ.
