There Is Hope For Your Job Search!

Timothy Geithner got a new job today, so can you!! There is hope for your job search! If you had any doubts, please don’t, there is hope on the horizon of this country. Everybody will get a job, no matter what you have done in the past. We will wipe the slate clean and you to, can make a six-figure income, move to D.C. and start raking in the big bucks.

I am appalled that Timothy Geithner was able to be confirmed as the Treasury Secretary with issues around his taxes looming over his head. He clearly did not handle his personal taxes and now he has been given keys to the Treasury of the United States. I am not convinced that he is one of the saviors of to economic issues. I would love to hear from you about why he is the one that will make such a significant impact as Treasury Secretary that we close our eyes and pretend that all is well with him. Is there no one else in America that can handle the responsibilities of this critical role in our country? No one else could do it? He is the only one?

The mission of the Treasury Department is to “serve the American people and strengthen national security by managing the U.S. Government’s finances effectively, promoting economic growth and stability, and ensuring the safety, soundness, and security of the U.S. and international financial systems.”

I speak to so many people different people who struggle in their job search because of integrity issues both theirs and others, performance issues and personality conflicts. Many job seekers are frustrated because, typically there is at least one thing that hinders them from getting the jobs they want because there are issues (integrity, performance or personality).

Let me be the first to say to you there is hope for your job search. There is no way you can’t get a job in America, no matter what you’ve done. There are no standards of conduct. There are no standards of integrity. If you lie, cheat, or steal, you can still get a job in America. How does Tim Geithner hold anyone accountable for misconduct in his organization? How does he teach his children that there are consequences for their actions? I am by no means suggesting that we tar and feather him, I am only suggesting that the standards of conduct have yet again been lowered in our country today under the auspices that this man is the only one who can save us. He is the only one that can do the job of Treasury Secretary. You should be so lucky in your job search. If more hiring managers would overlook integrity issues, performance issues and personality conflicts, we would have fewer people in the job market looking for employment.

I didn’t know about this guy’s tax issues. What is he supposed to have done?

  2. Hi Tracee, he has more than $34,000 of unpaid back taxes. He has paid that since the job offer by President Obama, however, which of us in America would get the same opportunity if we had done something as “small” not paying our taxes. This guy is now the Treasury Secretary. People are struggling to get employment because of the stigma of being laid off, termination, some justified others not. In any case, this guy got a job with some questionable integrity issues. I am not suggesting he is not employable, or that he shouldn’t be given a job somewhere, but as a leader in this country, referring to the new Treasury Secretary, I will ask my question again, how does he hold one person accountable for poor performance, integrity issues or worse? The standards are lowered. Anyone in his organization now has a credible argument for fighting for their job if they are ever released for …, you fill in the blank. Just my thoughts!

    Thanks for stopping by!

    Darlene

That’s definately a legitimate question. Did he apply for an extension?

I agree – we must raise the integrity bar in this country – especially in regards to financial issues.

  4. I do have a question…..is it possible to believe in something and yet still not live up to it?

  5. Hey Jason! Absolutely it is possible, however I don’t believe that we have to allow people, leaders in our country who are out of alignment with our values to continue to lead us.
