There is Officially a Pill For Everything

Apparently I live under a rock, because I just read about this new exercise pill over at Healthbolt.
It mimics the cardiovascular effects of exercise in rats- increasing their endurance and lowering their body fat.
The effects of this pill (if proven safe for humans) will be helpful for people with high cardiovascular risk, diabetes and any other physical ailment that could prevent people from working out.
Thoughts?

Crazy, no? I covered this pill (actually 2 separate pills) for HuffPo and on my site and if you read the actual studies and what the pills were tested for, it’s hardly the miracle the media is making them out to be. I think it’s an issue of premature reporter ejaculation…
You’re kidding me, right? That is one of the dumbest things I think they could ever invent… The sad thing is, I know people who would try it if they could.
Am agreeing with Charlotte.
PERHAPS it could be useful for the very ill etc. But you just know that its going to be abused, and it likely has all sorts of nasty side effects, and its just going to mess up our bodies even more. This is really one of the more stupid ideas that has come up. You’d think we could put that kind of money, brain power, and time to solving REAL problems. Whatever happened to doing it the good old fashioned way: just exercising?!
I’ll believe it when I see it. You can’t fake the funk like that!
LOL.. Read about this when it first came out. I don’t care about the research, or the findings.
Our society never ceases to amaze me. Anything that enables the quick-fix, or shortcut way of doing things.
We are such the convenience society.
tsk tsk.
