(FranchisePick.com)  After 20 years working with hundreds of franchised and non-franchised companies and thousands of franchise and small business owners, I’ve come to the following conclusion:

The only valid reason for owning a business
is to change the world.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say that “changing the world” is the *only* valid reason to go into business.

However, one of the themes I explore in my blog (www.myorganizedbiz.com) IS the value in doing business for the love of it. So often “getting a job” means giving up your own passions and expressing your talents, so people choose go it alone as an entrepreneur instead. The more people do what they love, the nice the world is to be in.

I also think that, even if the work you do doesn’t create a revolution, financial success lends itself to philanthopic giving. Which, of course, is almost as nice as personal fulfillment.

    Great blog!
