This ought to liven things up a bit
I’m sure you’ve all gotten used to my usual blatherings about cricket. England this, England that, England woohoo. Well, maybe not woohoo, because let’s face it, England’s most recent performance against Pakistan, has been nothing short of diabolical. In the much-anticipated, much-hyped build up to the series to end all series’ (The Ashes, if you really had to ask), I’m positively dribbling at the prospect of England retaining the much-sought-after urn of burnt bails.
Well, whether that happens or not, Six and Out is going spicy, by removing the one-sided angle to its commentary on the whole affair. Yes Duncan Riley has decided to pad up for S&O and give us his thoughts on the whole Ashes thing. The man is certainly well-qualified, in his own words:
I was the Membership Coordinator (basically 2IC) for the Membership office at the WACA for around 2.5 years…indeed during the last Ashes tour to Australia (for memory 2001-02). I’ve got a long cricket history in the family…although actually to be fair it’s more Rugby League based, but my Grandfather played for the Prime Ministers XI during WW2 and my great Uncle, my mothers Uncle, was Jack Fingleton (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Fingleton) …interestingly my family has ALWAYS hated Bradman, Jack Fingleton and Bradman were fierce rivals, and Jack always believed that Bradman got too much attention..and he was overlooked because of it. Indeed Jacks full name was John Henry Webb Fingleton, Webb being my mothers maiden name, Henry being a regular family name as well. …I believe from family history anyway that he was as well known as Richie Benaud is today as a cricket commentator during the 60’s and 70’s as well.
Pah. Whatever. He’s still Australian and he’s still going down.

Quite how many Jessica Alba fans we’ll get over here wondering about cricket, I don’t know, but don’t be too surprised if a lot of cricket fans are quite interested in Jessica Alba, if you know what I’m talking about. If nothing more, it does at least give me a perfectly valid excuse to post a picture of Jessica Alba in a bikini on this website, something I thought would never happen.)
