This won’t get it ‘Dunn’

The Arizona Diamondbacks are grasping for straws in an attempt to hang on to their slim one-and-a-half-game lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West. After the Dodgers hauled in Manny Ramirez, the D-Backs answered with … Adam Dunn?
I’m sure you’ve heard all the details already about the acquisition of Dunn and what Arizona sent to the Cincinnati Reds. Sure, Dunn is one of the top home run hitters in the game this season. However, look at this from another angle.
The Diamondbacks are struggling with offensive production in the outfield. Outside of Connor Jackson, who has split time between the outfield and first base this season, no other Diamondbacks outfielder is batting over .242. Now - add Dunn into the mix, who is hitting a sultry .233. Doesn’t make much sense, does it?
It’s only a matter of time before the Dodgers catch and pass Arizona, who is almost guaranteed to look foolish for making this move. Good thing for the Diamondbacks they didn’t give up much in the deal.

Honestly, trying to use Dunn’s AVG to discredit impact he’d bring to the D’Back’s outfield is sort of ignorant. He brings an on base presence to the lineup now and definitely improves the Diamondback’s chances of winning the division. The Dodgers will make it interesting, but I don’t see how this hurts Arizona’s chances. They added a major offensive component to the team.
Dear Anonymous (normally your name would go there, but maybe that really is your name),
I hope you and Adam Dunn are very happy. It seems that he is very special to you. I wish you nothing but the best.
Signed,
Mr. X
I’m not a Diamondbacks fan, but it’s truly nice to see how well you respond when actually confronted about your poor work.
It’s an opinion. If I’m wrong - I’m the first one to say that. Just wait.
Adam Dunn and his 32 homeruns and .373 obp are reallllllyyyyyy going to be detrimental to this team. Because adding people who are GOOD at baseball actually hurt a ballclubs chances at winning anything. Dunn strikes out alot, granted, but he is coming to a team that’s second in the majors in strikeouts. Im sure he’ll fit in fine.
Haha, batting average? You know nothing about baseball, so don’t write about it.
I don’t see how you could be anymore wrong. Batting average? Stop living in the stone age. OBP is much more important and Adam Dunn is great at that.
You, sir, are a f***ing moron.
Also, my mother really did name me Anonymous and I’m very proud of my name.
Wait, why is this Baldwin guy writing about baseball? We’re talking about the internet, so this might come off as ridiculous… but this is one of the dumbest online articles I have ever seen.
I appreciate all of your opinions on this topic. Obviously, we’ll have to wait to find out how the deal worked out. I have my opinion (stated above) and you have your own.
I like Adam Dunn. He does have a poor batting average and he strikes out a ton, but he also hits homeruns and walks a lot. That being said, I have to say that I agree with Tony on this one.
To all of the people personally attacking Tony for his opinions, please grow up. It is possible to disagree with somebody’s opinion without personal attacks.
