Thought For The Day: Rigidity or Flexibility?

“When a great wind blows, that which is rigid will snap and break. That which is flexible will bend. When the wind dies down and calm returns, the flexible will rise again.” – Unknown Author

broken-glass.jpgWhat’s going on in your world? Personally and professionally? Are pressures so heavy in one world that they, the pressures impact the other? In the midst of the madness of your life, find a way to release the things that make you “right”. Some times we can be so right, we miss the opportunity to “extend grace” to another, thereby becoming rigid. We plant our feet in our position and dare someone to move us. If you find yourself there, understand, that brokenness is usually a place of no return. You cannot put yourself back together. It will require someone more skilled than you.

“So rigidity leads to humility and brokenness. And that’s a great place to be. But flexibility leads to freedom! Both lead to growth.” – Darlene McDaniel

If you are struggling in your job search, or on your job. I dare you to step back for a moment and figure out where you are – rigidity or flexibility? What would happen if you chose to be flexible? Either way will eventually stretch you and grow you, but you can sometimes, maybe most times choose the path. Just something to think about today.
