Have you ever spotted a familiar face, thinking it might be a certain pro athlete, celebrity, or otherwise well-known figure . . . but you’re not 100% sure?
Same here.
Watching the exciting James Blake–Sebastien Grosjean Australian Open match (Blake won—yay!) reminded us of an encounter we had at the Celtics game we attended in the TD Banknohth Gahden (TD Banknorth Garden, for those of you outside Massachusetts).

No, we didn’t spot the fab Mr. Blake, but we did see his brother about 30 feet in front of us in the arena. Or so we thought. We weren’t sure if it was him! And we couldn’t think of his first name, either. What’s a Gawker Stalker wannabe to do?
Only one thing came to mind. The Bee’s voice carries better than mine, so I said: “Just yell out ‘Blake’!” So James Blake’s brother is on his cell phone, back turned to us, and then the Bee shouts:
“BLAKE!!!”
And this guy . . .

. . . whose first name (Thomas) we remembered after the game, stopped talking on his cell and whipped his around to see who was yelling to him!
The good news is, we figured out a good way to quell the “Is that so-and-so?” uncertainty and satisfy our curiosity. The bad news is *sigh* that Thomas Blake didn’t recognize us. WTF?
Guess he doesn’t read the blog.
