“T.J. Hooker” Movie in the Works

I’ve never been terribly fond of Heather Locklear but my love of William Shatner is what drew me to the classic television show, T.J. Hooker. While I think it was great for it’s time, I’m not sure how I feel about the reports that it’s getting a big-screen adaptation.
According to Variety, the action-comedy will focus “on the relationship between the title character and his father.” No actors have been cast so it’s a bit hard for me to envision how this will turn out. I know that some people liked it but I would have preferred to see Starsky & Hutch left alone. Some shows really don’t need to be resurrected as movies.
The rights to the series, which was originally directed by the late great, Aaron Spelling, have remained with creator, Rick Husky, who will be working on the film. No director has been chosen (The Scorpion King and The Mask’s Chuck Russell is in negotiations) but the script will be penned by Brent Maddock and S.S. Wilson.
Shatner, who was the original T.J. Hooker, complained about not being included in the new Star Trek film so maybe he’ll make a cameo in this one.
