I’m a big fan of TLA, but I too am skeptical about feedvertising. After checking my stats, I noticed that my feeds receive significantly more hits than actual my pages do (albeit probaby spiders and bots). Long story short, this means that feed ad would receive more views than a normal text ad would. I guess time will tell.

Dazza, Security, na. I've been pretty careful, however I may have to upgrade all our visual connect blogs to 2.0 soon, to take advantage of feedvertiser if Patrick doesn't get a move on!

yeah it’s an interesting one.

A couple of comments:

1. using WP1.5 – arent you concerned about security? Have heard of quite a few people getting hacked recently through old version of WP.

2. on the backlink funtion – from what I’ve heard it actually is quite good for backlinks because many people republish feeds, including the ads in them. While some of us as bloggers try to stop people republishing our feeds in full there are many who don’t (too lazy, don’t know it’s happening, don’t care) and the advertiser’s link gets published along with the feed. I doubt TLA will publicise this but it’s what I’m hearing that has been found from RSS advertising.
