today’s vehicles … tomorrow’s solutions

You guys have no idea how horrible I’m feeling. Not just because I’m missing the New York International Auto Show (starting tomorrow) but because I’m sick … or something. My bones feel like they are disintegrating. Owie.

Anyway, back to the auto show. It runs from March 21 – 30 at the Jacob Javitz Convention Center. You can buy tickets online … they aren’t too pricey. Not if you trust the organizers, and expect to see more new models and concept cars than ever before.

Visitors will get a look at some great new green machines – including the plug-in Ford Escape hybrid. Ned Potter, a correspondent for ABC News, did a testdrive on tv tonight, and it was estimated the extra expense of a plug-in would pay itself off within 3 years.

There’s a huge list of vendors, including the Automotive X-Prize, Coates, and Hybrid Technology, as well as all the major (and minor) car companies you’re expecting to see.

I hope some of you can make it out. Remember – no backpacks allowed, but cameras (and babies) are, so get out there and get plenty of pictures for me to show off for you. ;)

After visiting Japan a few years ago, I was taken with the tiny cars and trucks they drive. I am so happy to see these cars starting to make their way to our cities. I’m in Boston and we are just getting them now.
