Tom Brady in College

This weekend is thought by many to be the most exciting weekend in football. Of course, there aren’t any college games going on – it is all about the NFL playoffs. (*Insert debate about college ball needing a playoff system here*) I thought it would be fun to look back on the top 8 teams’ quarterbacks. What were they like in college?
Tom Brady, New England
Brady played at the University of Michigan, and his time there was somewhat frustrating. During his first two years, he got little playing time, and Brian Greise (now of the Bears) really shined. He was stressed by the lack of opportunity, and at one point frequented the team’s psychologists’ office, but he channeled that energy and beat of Drew Henson for the starting QB position in 1998. During that year, he set the Michigan record for most pass attempts and completions. He came back for his senior year and led the Wolverines to a Big Ten conference title and a win in the Citruis Bowl. He was the #199 draft pick (a compensatory pick) in 2000.

He also took “The Bible as Literature” religion course in his senior year and held the door for me one day when we left class. What? It was a big deal for me at the time. :)
