Tom Brady to Randy Moss

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

The Squibster likes his crow grilled not fried and no barbecue sauce please. Barbecue sauce does not go well with crow.

My pick of the home team Colts looked good until the 4th quarter.

Tom Brady looked to Randy Moss often with a helping of Welker and Stallworth and it was enough to win the big game with the Colts.

New England 24, Indianapolis 20.

Brady overcame a 10 point deficit in the 4th quarter with 2 quick touchdown drives. One involved a long pin point pass to Randy Moss of 55 yards and the other involved a long pass to Stallworth.

For once, Peyton could not engineer the last second drive as he was caught behind the line of scrimmage and fumbled it to New England trying to pass it away.

If you want excuses then you could say that Harrison played great for New England, but did not play for Indianapolis.

That is Rodney Harrison played great for the Patriots with 6 tackles and an interception, but Marvin Harrison, often the primary target for Peyton Manning, did not play at all.

Joseph Addai had 112 yards rushing and 114 yards receiving with 1 touchdown, but it just was not enough.

It seemed to have turned with 13 seconds left in the first half, when Joseph Addai took a short pass from Manning and raced 73 yards for a touchdown, at least twice faking out New England defenders who seemed as if they expected him to run out of bounds to stop the clock.

That gave the Colts a 13-7 halftime lead and seemed to be a huge momentum shift.

It certainly energized a Colts defense that was flying all over the field at the start of the second half. Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis kept Brady under pressure most of the afternoon and when middle linebacker Gary Brackett picked off a Brady pass in the first minute of the fourth quarter that led to Manning’s sneak, Indy seemed in control. source

Then it was all Tom Brady. He is having a season that will be talked about for a long time.

In the end, that wasn’t as much a factor as Brady. He threw for 153 of his 255 yards in the fourth quarter as the Patriots broke a three-game losing streak against the Colts, who beat them here 38-34 in the AFC title game last season and went on to win the Super Bowl by beating Chicago.

When they needed the big play Tom reared back and threw a long high pass to Randy Moss.

The Colts had no counter to that play.

  1. Of course I picked the Pats. No one can beat them this year. The only team that had a shot were the Colts and that was shot down today.

What really surprised me is the lack of offensive pop on both sides of the ball. Can you believe we were looking at Brady and Manning? Wow…

Yeah, thought for sure it would be a high scoring affair. Most of the action was in the 4th quarter.

  3. kaos aka randy says:
