Vice President and General Manager of BASS ESPN Outdoors Tom Ricks will soon pull double duty. Ricks and 23 others were appointed by the Secretary of the Interior, Dirk Kempthorne. Ricks is to serve a two year term that will begin on Nov 8.

The council offers guidence to the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation. The RBFF may be best known by many for their “Take Me Fishing” campaign of recent. A campaign that is aimed at growing participation in sport fishing. Chris Horton, Conservation Director for BASS has also been appointed as an alternate to the Sport Fishing and Boating Partnership Council.

While the BASS ESPN venture is still relativley young and being developed, I am surprised that two of its head honchos are willing to divert their attention torward other areas of the fishing industry. As a BASS member, I would like to know that the people in their position are putting all of their efforts and focus into the continued growth of BASS. It makes me wonder if their is another method to the madness.
