Tony Parker Plays for France versus Finland

After a couple weeks of drama that included injuries, airplane rides and interviews, Tony Parker was back on the court for the French national team on Saturday. France was able to beat Finland by a final score of 82-72.

Parker’s play was extremely limited. After playing the game’s first five minutes, he was on the bench for the rest of the contest. His teammates didn’t have much trouble as they used their superior talent to topple the hot-shooting Finland squad.

After hurting his ankle in an exhibition affair, Parker was eventually ordered back to San Antonio so that Spurs doctors could take a look at the injury. Once he arrived in San Antonio, the Spurs doctors agreed with the French assessment that the injury was minor.

Due to the trip to San Antonio, Parker missed France’s game against Italy. France, even without Parker, was able to hand the Italian national team an 80-77 defeat.

On August 14th, France once again plays Italy.
