Although the dominant force remains Google the Top 50 Website properties as reported by Comscore has some interesting moves
- Facebook.com moved up two positions, from #8 last month, marking its highest-ever ranking.
- Career Builder rose six spots to #39 with 21.7 million visitors, a reflection of a gain in the Career Services & Development category as out-of-work Americans continue to search for jobs
- June also represented Twitter.com’s debut in the ranking of the top 50 properties. After numerous reports of high growth, the microblogging site finally cracked the list, with 20.1 million visitors. Jack Flanagan, EVP at comScore commented on Twitter’s impressive rise. “It’s hard to believe that Twitter.com had fewer than a million visitors in June 2008, and now attracts more than 20 million visitors a month and ranks among the top 50 US properties,” he said.”
Here is the full list and it makes me think how the world is changing so quickly – when you look at the list it reflects what users do on the web rather than which are necessarily the largest brands in the world.
It is not what you want to be, it is what the customer wants the web to become…
