In Week 5 of the 2009 NFL season, we saw a couple of historic performances on the football field. Here’s a look at the best of the best NFL performances in Week 5.
QB Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts
This season, Peyton Manning is reminding people that he’s still the best quarterback in the NFL. Week 5 was more proof. Against the Titans, Manning had 309 passing yards to go with three touchdown tosses.
RB Michael Turner, Atlanta Falcons
After a breakout campaign a year ago, Michael Turner had been relatively quiet to begin the 2009 NFL season. In Week 5, however, he was quite loud. Turner finished with 97 yards rushing and three touchdowns.
WR Miles Austin, Dallas Cowboys
With out outing, Miles Austin just made himself a household name. Against the Chiefs, Austin had ten catches for 250 yards and two touchdowns. His final touchdown gave the Cowboys the win in overtime.
TE Kellen Winslow, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Buccaneers traded for Winslow in the offseason. In Week 5, he showed why. The tight end had nine catches for 102 yards and two touchdown grabs.
