Top Pros Still Alive in the Main Event

Wouldn’t it be something to see a top pro claim the title in a mammoth WSOP field again? Well we’re almost 5,000 players through and a handful of huge names have heavy chip stacks. Currently the Main Event still has 1827 remaining of 6494. Several big pros are still in the running with top chip stacks.

Check out the list:

  • Phil Ivey
  • Kenny Tran
  • Josh Arieh
  • Hevad Khan (not established yet, but another deep run would solidify him)
  • JC Tran
  • David Benyamine
  • Jeff Lisandro
  • Antonio Esfandiari
  • Phil Hellmuth
  • Kirk Morrison
  • Perry Friedman
  • Minh Nguyen

These are only a few of the big names.  The list continues including pro basketball player Jordan Farmar and “amateur” Dennis Phillips who finished 3rd in the 2008 Main Event.

So far so good.  Hopefully more of these recognizable players can continue up the ranks to make things more interesting as the field narrows down to the final table.s

Here is some file footage of Phillips:

Wow those are some pretty big names! I would love to be at the final table in November to see who wins. I can’t imagine how that would feel!
