Training camps open across WNBA
Throughout the weekend and this week, training camps begin for the WNBA. While some of your favorite players still have overseas commitments, many teams will take about 20 ladies into camp to fill the rosters out. Some tidbits from opening weekend.
- Penny Taylor still has not committed to the defending champion Phoenix Mercury this year as she considers her Olympic play.
- Used to be a time where if you received an invitation to the Detroit Shock training camp, you made the team. No more beginning this year, you’ve gotta earn the spot.
- I’m openly rooting for one woman invited to Silver Stars camp to earn a roster spot, and that player is Joyce Ekworomadu.
