Sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen hasn’t even gotten a release date yet but Paramount and Dreamworks have already staked their claim on a release date for the franchise’s third installment – July 1, 2011.

Insiders say that they wanted to get prime mid-summer spot before any other potential blockbuster had a chance to snatch it up.
Of course, this all depends on how well the second movie does but, if it’s anything like the first Transformers (it grossed $319 million in the U.S.), it’s going to kill at the box office. As of today, there is no script and no writers have been hired. I am hoping the series continues since I really loved the first film. Okay, I won’t even try to lie – when I heard Peter Cullen utter his first words as Optimus Prime in the movie, I actually shed a tear. It was absolutely great!
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen stars Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox and Josh Duhamel and is set to hit theaters on June 24, 2009. All this talking has made me want to watch the trailer. You can watch it here too:
