Tuesday Treasure Trove – Numero II

So, you remember last week when I told you I’d review Apprentice II – The Knight’s Move? Well, I lied. I lied to you ALL. But don’t worry… I might do it next week… OR MAYBE I WON’T.
Instead, this week, I played the thrilling epic saga, Spooks, by Erin “The Ivy” Robinson, and boy, let me tell you, this game was FUN. Spooks had a ton of humor, a really different story line, great dialog and two sex scenes.
Okay, it didn’t really have sex scenes, but how else am I suppose to attract people from Google?
If you want to download this game, you may do so hereeee.
Also, this week, I’m going to start putting a little movie of my favorite part of the game. I’m not too great with the movie editing sequences yet, so I’m going to be posting what’s on YouTube and then I’ll post a downloadable link for you, because the one on YouTube may or may not look like crap… at least until I get the whole handle on the editing thing.
Spooks starts off with the main character, Mortia, tormenting everyone at the Carnage-Val, which in the living world is something like a carnival, except the carnies at the Carnage-Val are supah freaks. I mean REAL freaks. The carnies include a demon who likes to drink soda, an angel who has fallen, because she had a demon child with the deom who like to drink soda, a talking light bulb that talks like a surfer, an alien who thinks that the meaning of life lives in a pan of muffins, and an eyeball who is a seer, but hasn’t been able to seer very well lately, because it lost its contact. There is also a booth where you are asked to throw darts and if you win you get a special prize. This is where the fun begins for Mortia.
The dart booth guy talks Mortia into playing a round of darts. Mortia reluctantly gives up 2 bones for 3 darts and the fun begins. She shoots once… misses… Shoots twice… way off to the right. Shoots again. Bullseye! Ding ding ding! We have a winnah! So, dart guy starts handing out a prize, which Mortia doesn’t really want, but when the guy takes out a goldfish, says it’s “Alive” and shoves it in her hand and then closes the dart booth doors, Mortia has no choice but to take it.
She then bonds with the goldfish, names it Spooks and now she has to find out what the word “Alive” means, because, hey… she’s in the land of the dead and nothing there is alive. Mortia starts asking everyone if they know what the word “Alive” means. At first, no one really knows the answer, because apparently the cops want to keep the whole “Alive” thing on the low-down as to not lose any citizens from the land of the dead.
As you get further into the game, the police accost you, ask you if you know what “Alive” means and tells you to keep your nose clean. However, since Mortia is one to cause wanton destruction, there’s no way she CAN keep her nose clean. It’s especially hard when you don’t have a nose, like me.
I had a lot of fun playing this game. It was very different from other adventure games and had a great storyline. Plus, the conversations between all the characters had be cracking up the entire game. This game was EXTREMELY witty and very cute. There weren’t too many challenging puzzles, but I’m not complaining… Ever since that brain damage I got, I just haven’t been able to figure out the hard puzzles. Hehe.
I’m gonna give this game a 4.5 pirate hats!

Here’s my favorite part:
