Have you ever wondered how come there is an application icon in your taskbar and could not turn it off from the Task Manager?

If you cannot delete the application from the task manager because of its unavailability, you can turn it off from the Services module.

The following are the steps for stopping services:

1. Go to Control Panel
2. Click on Administrative Tools
3. Click on Computer Management
4. On the left pane, click on Services and Applications
5. From the Services and Applications menu, click on Services (See image below)

6. On the right pane, look for the service name which is normally the same or similar as the application you want to stop (See image below)

7. Right click on the service name
8. From the pop-up menu, click properties
9. You can now start and stop the service (see image below)
