Akimbo

If you want the future, forget the past. That’s the hard lesson learned by Akimbo, a company that initially made set-top boxes to put online video on TV sets. They later tried to reinvent themselves as a turnkey solution for Big Media to control online video content.

Akimbo closed down yesterday. Hell, I had never even heard of them until they died. If you’re going inside online video, go full speed ahead and embrace its openness. Don’t tether yourself to the TV.
