T.V. showcase house facing foreclosure

Each day, I stumble across another story that illustrates just how serious the mortgage crisis has become in this country.

This time, it’s an Associated Press story about a home in Lake City, Ga., that has fallen into foreclosure and is ready to be sold at auction. Nothing special, right? Well, just three years ago, this home was featured on an episode of ABC-TV’s “Extreme Makeover,” anther in the seemingly endless series of home-renovation shows on television.

Unfortunately, since their home appeared on the ABC show, the owners have faced financial difficulties and can no longer afford to pay their bills.

Just one more small story showing that the foreclosure crisis is nowhere near an end.
