Twitter Marketing – How Effective Is it?

Twitter has become an unquestionable force in the marketing world. It seems as if every new online marketing campaign has a Twitter tie-in. However, a new LinkedIn Research Network/Harris Poll survey had a number of interesting findings.

When advertisers where asked about how effective Twitter is when it comes to promoting ideas and products, the result wasn’t too surprising. 58% said that Twitter was either very effective or somewhat effective.

But when other adults were asked, the results weren’t as positive. While 50% said Twitter is very effective or somewhat effective, 31% said that Twitter is not that effective. Considering the millions of dollars in marketing that is currently being spent on Twitter marketing cmapaigns, that is a percentage that advertisers don’t want to see.

Another interesting result was found when the survey found that 69% of adults admitted to not knowing enough about Twitter to have an opinion.

So is Twitter marketing something that will get more popular as the years go by or is it a flash in the pan? Leave a comment and let us know your opinion.
