Twitterfeed is sending RSS via Twitter
If you have not have heard of twitter you must be hiding under a rock or fallen asleep after drinking special mead with short men playing bowling in the sky.Twitter once described as micro-blogging has now become something somewhat different. Yes it still use to send twits. But it is sometime also used to send news or even to converse. And as of late it has been used to feature posts of interest from one’s blog. Most people do this manually: Shortening the URL by putting it in tinyUrl or any other similar service. Then posting on twitter. Now you can use a service or an application to do this easily. An example of this is Twitterfeed, which is still in the Beta stage.
All that is needed to start with twitterfeed are the following:
1. Create a new twitter account at twitter.com, You can use your existing twitter account but you may opt to use this for personal use rather than use it for your blog.
2. Using OpenID log into TwitterFeed.
3, Go to my twitterfeeds and provide the URL for your blog’s RSS feed, and specify how often should it be posted and how should it be displayed on twitter.
4. Then Save settings. Voila! your blog’s rss feed is now sent via twitter… automatically.
More information and development on Twitter Feed can be found here. Twitterfeed is not associated with Twitter nor with twitter.com.
Does this make life simpler? It is an interesting way to distribute syndicated feeds and an alert system. RSS alerts can now be received by instant messaging and also by SMS.
