Twitter’s Friendly Social Media Competitors

It seems that many of the social media websites are starting to integrate with Twitter and are becoming friendly competitors. We see this in the way that they have integrated the Twitter API (or Twitter functions) into their website to make it easier for their user to share information via Twitter.

This brings up a question, will all of the integration from friendly competitors overload Twitter? Has the open sharing of their API cause Twitter to loose control over their traffic? Even though many love the ability to share on Twitter from their favorite social media as I do, could too much external traffic be the downfall of Twitter.
No, I’m not trying to be a naysayer about the integration of the Twitter API into my favorite social media websites, just trying to bring some realism into the mix. In recent days if not weeks, I’ve noticed that Twitter Status message were sent out regarding major issues which were affecting the performance of Twitter.
Is there a solution on the horizon for the overload issues? How will this affect the attitude that Tweeters have towards Twitter? Can Twitter really fix all of the issues that continuously cause issues for Tweeters? So many questions that need so many answers that’s affecting Twitter’s online reputation.
