Two Polls on the Economy

I just thought I’d share the results of two CNN opinion polls:
- 53% of Americans think the $700 billion bailout was aimed at helping Wall Street.
- 60% of Americans think a depression is somewhat or very likely.
What do you think?

Experience and recent history has shown that your average American has very poor understanding of personal finance and economics. Thus, except as a measure of consumer confidence, opinion polls like these do not have much meaning to me.
You make a good point. But I still think it is interesting to see what people think about this whole thing. After all, to a certain extent, individual perceptions can shape the future, depending on who they vote into office and what sort of pressure they exert. That was seen, to a certain extent, last week just before the House rejected the bailout proposal.
