Tyson Chandler has been plagued by injuries all season. The New Orleans Hornets center even failed a physical after he was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder that resulted in the trade getting rescinded. After missing his fifth consecutive game on Friday night, it was announced that Chandler will be out for up to two more weeks.

Earlier in this week, the Hornets were hopeful that Chandler would be able to play in a matter of days. However, after his sore right ankle didn’t show signs of improvement, the Hornets opted to have his ankle immobilized by a walking boot.
On the season, Chandler is averaging 8.8 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.3 blocks. His point per game stat is lower than its been since the 2005-06 season and his rebounding is lower than any point since 2003-04.
Without their starting center, the Hornets lost on Friday night against the New York Knicks. Following the loss, the Hornets sank to seventh in the Western Conference with a record of 44-27.
