U2 Ticket Sales Off to Strong Start

U2 is getting ready to kick off their “360” tour and, according to Billboard, the sales are already off to a great start. So far, the band has sold more than 215,000 tickets in under 24 hours for the U.K. and Ireland leg of the tour. That’s amazing considering the fact that the tix only went on sale March 20, 2009 but it’s not surprising considering it includes performances at London’s Wembley Stadium and two homecoming sets at Croke Park, Dublin.
Live Nation elaborated on the astounding statistics adding that “6,700 tickets for the Wembley stadium date were sold in just 60 seconds” which is the fastest tickets have ever sold in the United Kingdom.
I’m a huge fan of U2 and I would love to see one of the shows but, not only are their no stops currently scheduled in Canada, the only North American dates are out east so I’d have to fly or spend days in my van driving. Oh well – I can keep an eye on YouTube and try to catch some performances that way.
